Jonathan Hey is a multidisciplinary product leader, designer and researcher with a PhD in Design and over a decade of hands-on experience scaling startups and building product teams across the UK and US. He led UX and product at Nutmeg through its growth to £1bn+ AUM and a near‑billion dollar exit, then scaled Zen Educate from a small team to a 30‑person product organisation while launching multiple SaaS products and expanding into the US. Equally fluent in strategic framing, human‑centred design and delivery, he combines ethnographic research and academic rigour with practical product ops, data-driven decision making and security governance. Author of Big Ideas Little Pictures and creator of Sketchplanations, he explains complex systems visually and brings that clarity into workshops, boardrooms and classrooms. A seasoned facilitator and educator, he has taught at UC Berkeley and Stanford and applies systematic innovation methods to solve knotty business problems. Notably, he pairs high-level strategy with the day-to-day craft of shipping reliable, user-centred digital products.
