Senior🎓
Top SchoolJonathan Melly is a seasoned computer science educator and former senior software engineer with 12+ years of experience bridging professional development and classroom practice in Lausanne, Switzerland. He teaches programming with a facilitative, non-violent-communication-inspired approach, using hands-on technologies from .NET and Java to mobile apps, Arduino and Thymio robots to make coding tangible. Prior to teaching he led and built backend platforms and developer teams at Swissquote and worked across Java/.NET stacks in consulting and product roles. Jonathan pairs technical depth with coaching and somatic practices—he has formal training in pedagogy, life coaching and bodywork—which informs his student-centered methodology. Outside the classroom he channels curiosity and resilience as a kite and snowboard instructor and endurance athlete, bringing adventure-based problem solving into his teaching. Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic innovator who turns complex systems and human dynamics into accessible learning experiences.
