Jonathan Neufeld
Senior Consultant at Improving
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Summary
👤
SeniorJonathan Neufeld is a pragmatic senior consultant and polyglot engineer with 13 years of experience building high-performance, type-safe systems in Java, Scala, C++ and Python. He specializes in reactive, concurrent and distributed architectures—recently leading a transition to Pekko and driving a low-latency CQRS migration—while consistently improving business metrics (a social sign-in project raised digital conversions by 10%). Equally comfortable in hands-on implementation and technical leadership, Jonathan mentors teams, speaks publicly, and shapes abstractions with a mathematician’s attention to detail. His work ranges from Python/Qt GUIs and Spark transformations to 3D spatial computing and parallelism, reflecting a curiosity-driven, 90s-dev ethos. Based in Calgary, he pairs pragmatic delivery with cost-conscious decisions—one migration saved over $150k per year—making him a reliable partner for complex system modernization.
