Top SchoolJonathon Sim is a founder and seasoned software engineer with two decades of experience in software development, system administration and website hosting, now focused on making AWS practical for web developers through Idealstack. He built Idealstack as a cloud-native SaaS hosting console that simplifies running PHP and web apps on AWS, bridging the gap between developer workflows and cloud best-practices like autoscaling and global infrastructure. Previously he spent over a decade shaping products and infrastructure at Zeald, rising from the company’s first employee to CTO and products lead. His technical background is grounded in applied mathematics (MSc) and physics, giving him a quantitative approach to systems design and operational reliability. Based in Auckland, he pairs hands-on engineering with product leadership to turn complex cloud services into pragmatic tools for agencies and developers. A persistent theme in his work is making advanced cloud capabilities accessible to teams that historically avoided AWS due to operational complexity.
