Joram Wilander is a product-focused engineering leader with 11 years of experience building and scaling Mattermost’s core collaboration platform, now serving as Director of Product Engineering. He combines deep full‑stack expertise—React front-ends, Go back-ends, Redux state management and mobile React Native—with a track record of shipping SaaS features, leading the launch of Mattermost’s first cloud offering. Joram has progressed from hands-on contributor (UI components, plugins, docs and tests across major Mattermost repos) to managing cross-functional product engineering teams and the Channels product. A University of Waterloo Computer Engineering graduate, he brings a pragmatic engineering mindset honed in game and systems-focused roles early in his career. Colleagues rely on him to turn complex product requirements into maintainable, well-tested code and documentation across an open-source monorepo.
