Senior🎓
Top SchoolJordan Brown is a Senior Software Engineer with 13 years of experience building web and backend systems across startups and larger tech companies, currently engineering at Newsela. He is polyglot and curious by trade, comfortable with mainstream stacks like C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL and Linux operations, while also favoring Lisp-family and functional languages—Common Lisp, Clojure, Standard ML—and systems languages like Rust. Jordan has production experience with web servers and databases on both Windows and Linux (Apache, Lighttpd, IIS, Postgres, SQLite, SQL Server) and a track record of shipping reliable features at companies including Uber, Panorama Education, and Patientco. He pairs deep command-line and scripting skills (Perl, awk, shells) with pragmatic full-stack development, often bridging legacy T-SQL/C# codebases and modern service architectures. Outside work he stays creatively engaged—music, games, and personal projects available from his site—reflecting a habit of learning languages and tools beyond the everyday.
