Top SchoolJordon De Hoog is a Senior Software Engineer with 12 years of experience specializing in Android and Kotlin Multiplatform, currently driving product and infrastructure improvements at Reading Journey. He led Android development for 1 Second Everyday—migrating a large codebase from Java to Kotlin, adopting Coroutines/Flow and Jetpack Compose, and designing a dual-engine video pipeline for advanced editing. Jordon publishes widely-used open source KMP libraries (MaterialKolor, connectivity, compass, drag-select-compose) that power theming, network monitoring, geolocation, and multi-selection across Android, iOS, desktop, and web. He pairs hands-on mobile feature delivery with backend performance tuning and CI/CD automation, having ensured uptime during rapid user growth and shipped App Store–ranked features. Comfortable across Kotlin, Java and TypeScript, he brings full-stack pragmatism rooted in a Computer Programming Analyst diploma from Fanshawe College. An often-overlooked strength is his pattern of fixing real-world problems (offline-first support, scalable video pipelines) that bridge user needs and long-term maintainability.
