Top SchoolJorge Echevarria is a consultant and geospatial software engineer with 12 years of experience turning messy location data into automated, production-ready systems. He blends deep GIS expertise (PostGIS, QGIS, Mapbox) with pragmatic scripting and cloud inventory experience to cut costs and boost performance across multi-cloud environments. Notable projects include a geocoding API for 2.5M Colombian addresses and an algorithmic rural naming system that created place-based addressing alternatives used by community leaders. He mentors junior engineers, delivers tailored client training, and consistently automates repetitive workflows with Node.js and spatial tooling. Based in Salem, Oregon, Jorge balances technical rigor with field-oriented work—having automated four decades of shorebird survey analyses—and brings a hands-on, multidisciplinary approach to data management and mapping.
