Senior🎓
Top SchoolJorge Morgado is a DevOps Engineer and Certified Scrum Master with 10 years of experience blending scientific rigor and cloud-native engineering to deliver large-scale infrastructure for research and industry. He holds a PhD in Physics and has transitioned academic expertise in big-data astronomy into production-grade CI/CD, Kubernetes, and automation platforms for projects like the SKA Observatory and a BMW joint venture. At SKAO he built automated pipeline pre-checks, multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments, and artifact caching strategies that tightened code quality and delivery velocity across global teams. As an Agile coach he mentors distributed teams through complex release trains, removing blockers and improving developer autonomy while remaining hands-on with Python, GitLab CI, Ansible, and containerization. Based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, he uniquely combines deep-domain knowledge of astrophysics and simulation with practical systems engineering for reproducible scientific workflows. Colleagues value him for translating research-grade requirements into robust, auditable pipelines that scale from prototyping to observatory-grade operations.
