Jørgen Rørvik is a marine engineer and software engineer with six years of hands-on experience building cloud-based simulation and monitoring solutions for maritime and offshore systems. He holds an M.Sc. in Marine Technology from NTNU with a specialization in hydrodynamics, CFD and ship hull design, and has practical experience in resistance, stability and model testing from multiple roles at Umoe Mandal. At NOV he led architecture, development and operation of a web-based simulator including real-time equipment simulation for training and PLC testing, and developed condition-monitoring models for crane and rigging wire. He combines practical shipyard and industrial plumbing apprenticeship experience with software-first thinking, which helps bridge physical testing and digital twin workflows. Based in Mandal, Norway, he brings a pragmatic focus on skrogdesign and operability while translating marine engineering problems into deployable cloud and simulation software.
