Top SchoolJos Van Bakel is a system engineer and full-stack developer with 11 years of experience building and operating cloud-native infrastructure and web applications from the Netherlands. He blends deep systems expertise—NixOS, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform—with hands-on application work in Python, Elixir, Go and Java, often owning both code and the environments it runs in. At companies from startups to scale-ups he has modernized operations (Docker/Rancher migrations, Terraform modularization) and led feature-rich backend and portal development for international customers. Equally at home soldering an ESP8266 project as tinkering hobby, he continuously explores new languages and paradigms (currently Elixir and Rust), which keeps his toolset fresh and pragmatic. Known for pragmatic automation and declarative infrastructure, he thrives on making complex systems repeatable, observable and resilient.
