Top SchoolJose Conchello is a scientific programmer with 11 years of experience translating mathematical-physics models into robust code for computational microscopy, image restoration, and statistical analysis. With a PhD in Engineering Sciences and research roles at Washington University, OMRF, and Harvard, he has modeled optical and electron microscopes to both characterize instrument limits and derive algorithms to overcome them. He programs across MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Fortran and web front-ends, and routinely bridges theoretical derivations with practical implementations used in biomedical imaging projects. His work includes error-detection methods for human and machine segmentation of neuronal EM data and inexpensive, scalable image-based drug screening for C. elegans. Based in Cambridge, MA, he combines deep domain expertise with clear communication to make complex imaging and statistical results accessible to non-specialists. He is currently seeking opportunities to apply his computational optics and image-analysis skills to new research and product challenges.
