Jose Gomes
Summary
👤
SeniorJose Gomes is a seasoned JavaScript developer with 13 years of end-to-end web engineering experience, currently building high-availability onboarding applications at Barclays from his base in Liverpool. He specializes in React/Redux patterns, TypeScript/Angular modernization and pragmatic backend integrations, having engineered middleware that simplified API access for large-scale React apps and supported 12k weekly users with under 1% manual fraud reviews. Jose has a track record of modernising legacy systems—introducing IndexedDB, ElasticSearch, GraphQL and reproducible Vagrant AWS environments—and has led architecture and ETL work integrating Salesforce into complex Angular/Meteor portals. Comfortable across the full stack, he pairs a user-focused mindset (drag-and-drop CMS UX, responsive UIs) with operational rigor and peer training, helping teams adopt emerging JavaScript standards. His atypical strength is combining hands-on coding with reproducible infra practices that make cloud-like environments accessible locally, accelerating delivery and reducing onboarding friction.
