Senior🎓
Top SchoolJose Lopez is a managing partner and founder who builds funds and startups focused on equitable community wealth, currently leading the Community Wealth Fund—a fund-of-funds that targets sub-$50M vehicles investing in wealth-building solutions across food, climate, finance, health, and education. With 11 years of investment and entrepreneurial experience and a decade-plus engineering background including a CTO role, he blends technical fluency with high-risk, power-law GP strategies to drive social impact and financial returns. His prior PreSeed fund was ranked #4 worldwide in 2023 among peers under $250M, and many of those playbooks are being scaled within CWF. Based in Oakland and steeped in long-term social justice activism since the 1980s, he preferentially backs emerging ecosystems (e.g., Dallas, Detroit, LA) to reduce inequality while seeking outsized gains.
