Senior🎓
Top SchoolJosé Martinez is an Engineering Manager with 12 years of hands-on experience building and leading distributed software teams across remote and onsite environments from Madrid. He blends deep technical fluency in Java, Kotlin, Python and React Native with a people-first approach that prioritizes autonomy, observability and developer flow over ticket velocity. At Fresco he shaped platform roles, improved observability and developer experience, and coached cross-functional Foundations teams; he now leads engineering at ODILO while also teaching Software Design Patterns at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. José’s background includes shipping consumer mobile apps used across 20 countries and backend platforms for energy and utilities, giving him a rare perspective across product, infra and developer tooling. He is comfortable with asynchronous collaboration and intentionally builds trust and clear communication as cultural levers. Outside work he channels curiosity and experimentation into cooking, running and hunting for exceptional coffee—habits that mirror his iterative, craft-oriented approach to engineering.
