Senior🎓
Top SchoolJoseph Birkner is a Senior Software Architect based in the Greater Munich area with 10 years of experience designing cloud-native and embedded systems for automotive HD mapping and infotainment. He has driven the evolution of NDS.Live protocols and led developer-facing products like an NDS MapViewer and Developer Portal, blending C++, Python, TypeScript and Angular to deliver production-grade streaming map services. His background in neural retrieval and TensorFlow—developed both in academia at LMU and in product—gives him an uncommon mix of ML-driven search expertise and low-latency distributed systems know-how. Joseph’s work spans from embedded diagnostics tools to architecting AD-ready map stacks, and he often operates at the intersection of developer experience and vehicle-grade reliability. Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic engineer who translates research prototypes into robust, developer-friendly platforms.
