Top SchoolJoseph Cross is a software engineer with 14 years of experience specializing in distributed systems, infrastructure, cryptography, and API/SDK design. He has led identity, access, and cryptographic system design at Oracle and Convoy, built authentication and signing libraries and helped define platform API standards, and most recently developed high-performance distributed cryptographic systems for satellites at Amazon. Now at Docker, he focuses on tooling and developer-facing infrastructure, bringing a pragmatic combination of security-first design and scalable engineering practices. He’s known for hiring and mentoring across organizations and for translating complex threat models into usable SDKs and operator tooling. Based in Boston with a B.S. in Mathematics, he blends rigorous analytical training with deep production experience in low-level crypto, KMS design, and decentralized hardware-backed access controls. An understated strength is his track record of turning subtle cryptographic and operational requirements into clear APIs and developer workflows.
