Senior🎓
Top SchoolJoseph Kramer is a seasoned engineering leader with 13+ years building scalable, high-performance distributed systems and mapping/navigation platforms, currently leading Android Platform Frameworks and navigation teams at CARIAD. He has a strong track record at IBM and Argo/ CARIAD designing fault-tolerant multi-threaded connectors, migrating on-prem products to cloud-first architectures, and running cross-functional mapping and location services for automotive and autonomous systems. Joseph blends hands-on engineering—he still delights in making tricky unit tests pass—with people leadership, recruiting, coaching, and setting strategic vision for product and platform teams. He’s active in developer education and community: teaching test-driven development at CodeRetreat and advising CMU students on agile practices. Comfortable across backend, cloud, and mobile stacks, he also brings practical experience running large-scale US data collection operations and integrating vendor mapping APIs for production navigation apps. Based in Pittsburgh, he stays current through MOOCs and conferences, combining curiosity-driven learning with production-grade delivery.
