Top SchoolJoseph Sheffield is a Senior Technical Consultant with 11 years of GIS-focused software and product engineering experience, currently based in Denver and working at Esri. He designs and scripts server-side geoprocessing workflows (notably for a Product on Demand map generation system), manages ArcServer deployments, and implements Production Mapping solutions and workflow automation for national mapping agencies. Joseph combines field research experience and graduate-level GIS/geology training to bridge real-world data collection with scalable, repeatable map production pipelines. He also leads instructor-led training for Production Mapping, keeping course material aligned with evolving implementations, and co-owns an outdoor gear and trip-planning site, reflecting a practical, field-oriented perspective. Known for meticulous automation and testing from earlier product engineering roles, he brings both hands-on coding (Python, C++/VB.net background) and operational expertise to reduce costs and accelerate mapping productivity.
