Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolJosh Gum is an API engineer and architect with 17 years of hands-on experience designing and operating high-availability distributed systems, now serving the Oregon Secretary of State's Office after years as a systems architect and consultant. He specializes in monolith decomposition, high-performance APIs, and multi-cloud architectures across AWS, GCP, and Azure, with a track record of supporting 60K+ users and processing over a billion transactions monthly. Comfortable across the full stack—React, TypeScript, Node.js, and .NET—he has led teams to turn fragile applications into fault-tolerant platforms and introduced distributed caching solutions that materially improved throughput and reliability. Based in Corvallis, Oregon, he blends staff-level architectural leadership with hands-on implementation, and—tellingly—still enjoys "surfing the Information Superhighway" from a trusty mechanical keyboard.
