Josh Walwyn
Birmingham, England, United Kingdom
Summary
👤
SeniorJosh Walwyn is a pragmatic software engineer and tech leader with 10 years’ experience building scalable, observable cloud-native systems and growing high-performing teams. He combines hands-on expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation) and CI/CD with a product-minded, data-driven approach to delivery and SDLC improvements. Josh has progressed from DevOps to engineering management and staff-level roles across The Economist, Endeavor Streaming, and Time Out via Econify, consistently focusing on architecture and operational excellence. He’s comfortable shipping across the stack with TypeScript, Python and Bash, and brings a practical bias for automation, GitOps and “fail fast” experimentation. Based in Birmingham, he balances engineering leadership with frequent hands-on contributions, and his Github presence hints at a playful, design-minded side to his technical curiosity.
