Top SchoolJoshua Carlson is a Senior Software Engineer with five years of professional software experience and a background as an ocean explorer and ROV systems developer. He has led real-time, edge-based ML systems at Amazon Robotics—achieving major latency and CPU improvements for large-volume barcode decoding—and now engineers automation solutions at Berkshire Grey. Comfortable across C++, Python, Qt, embedded interfaces and data pipelines, he bridges hardware-software gaps from vehicle control systems to multi-camera, low-latency perception stacks. Joshua is self-taught in software while pursuing formal studies in CS and data science, and brings uncommon field-tested resilience and a user-centered approach honed by building control consoles and mission-critical shipboard data systems.
