Senior🎓
Top SchoolJoshua Pekera is a Principal Product Designer based in the Bay Area with 13+ years crafting design systems, media platforms, and AI-driven experiences for companies including Meta, Airbnb, and Apple. He blends design engineering and prototyping expertise to ship cross-platform systems—work that at Airbnb spanned declarative UIs in SwiftUI, JPC, and React and patented interaction patterns for complex booking flows. Currently focused on generative AI and media at Meta while also building design tooling at Stitch, he specializes in ML/LLM-driven interfaces, video and media systems, and scalable design systems that reach millions of users. Joshua’s background spans hands-on visual design through leadership roles, and he often pairs creative direction with engineering fluency to deliver production-ready prototypes and tooling. A less obvious strength is his history of inventing new media formats and interaction metaphors (e.g., Lava micro-animations and “The Dial”), showing a talent for turning exploratory prototypes into productized patterns.
