Summary
👤
SeniorJuan Alonso is a Director and seasoned front-end technologist with 14 years of hands-on experience building scalable design systems and polished UI/UX across enterprise and startup settings. He started as a self-taught full-stack developer at 17, working with Python/Django and Java/Android before settling into a deep expertise in modern JavaScript—where he found his “tech-stack crush.” Juan has led front-end architecture and design language initiatives for organisations including the Ministry of Justice, Barclays, bp, Diageo and more while running Rocktaps since 2016. He combines an aesthetic eye uncommon among engineers with pragmatic delivery skills, frequently translating visual design into maintainable component systems. Based in Ely, UK, he pairs director-level strategic thinking with ongoing hands-on craft and a playful, creative streak evident in his GitHub persona.
