Top SchoolJulia Flanagan is a Staff Software Engineer with 11 years of experience specializing in backend Python development, data pipelines, RESTful APIs, alerting, and data acquisition. She has advanced through roles at Locus Energy, AlsoEnergy, and Mailchimp within Intuit, demonstrating steady technical growth from project management and QA into senior engineering and staff-level responsibilities. Julia favors simple, logical solutions to complex problems and brings pragmatic experience with Java and Scala when systems demand polyglot approaches. Based in Bellingham, WA, she pairs deep technical craft with a team-first mindset—empathy, positivity, and a continual desire to learn—which has helped her bridge product and infrastructure work in data-intensive environments. An environmental economics background from UC Berkeley adds a systems-thinking perspective that informs her approach to sustainable, reliable engineering.
