Julien Michot is an engineering manager and former principal software engineer with 16 years of experience specializing in computer vision, robotics and embedded perception systems. He has led end-to-end autonomy efforts—from research-grade SLAM and 3D reconstruction in his PhD to production navigation stacks for UAVs and robots at companies including Apple, Dyson and Univrses. Julien combines hands-on algorithmic work (visual localization, mapping, perception) with architecture and product leadership, regularly shipping models and software to embedded and real-time platforms. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, he currently heads navigation for autonomous UAV development while also having founded a brief venture to explore new vision-driven products. Colleagues describe him as someone who bridges deep academic rigor with pragmatic engineering, often turning advanced 3D perception research into deployable systems. An oft-overlooked strength is his track record of moving prototypes into embedded production across both consumer and industrial robotics.
