Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolJulien Richard-foy is a senior software engineer and technology leader based in Lausanne with 15 years of experience designing, implementing and shipping resilient full-stack systems. He pairs strong Scala expertise—contributions to high-profile projects like the Scala compiler, Scala.js and the Play Framework—with pragmatic engineering: building scalable data pipelines, CI optimizations and developer tooling that cut costs and speed up delivery. As former CTO and Director of Education at the Scala Center he has led curriculum, platform and community work (including MOOCs and documentation) while also driving production systems in Java, TypeScript and cloud infrastructure. Julien favors iterative delivery and measurable impact—one project reduced processing time from 4h to 1h while handling orders of magnitude more data—and he combines deep academic training (PhD in software engineering) with hands-on open-source craftsmanship.
