Top SchoolJulio García is a Senior Optical Engineer and PhD physicist with nine years of hands-on experience designing and building lasers, photonic systems, and opto-mechanical solutions across academia and industry. He specializes in semiconductor disk lasers (VECSELs/SDLs), optical design using Zemax and Lumerical, and scientific automation with Python, and has taken projects from lab prototypes to production environments at TMC and ASML. Beyond core optics, he writes and maintains his own laser-design software (SimCav), teaches university courses, and serves as a local laser safety officer, reflecting a blend of technical depth, pedagogy, and safety stewardship. Known for a pragmatic, user-focused approach and a dry sense of humor, he enjoys multidisciplinary challenges that intersect light sources, detectors, and computational methods.
