Junru Ren is an AI engineer and product-minded builder with 10 years of experience shipping voice and NLP systems at scale—his work has processed 11k+ orders/week (~$1.6M+ GMV) and delivered Mandarin in-car voice features to 30k+ vehicles. Currently an LGO Fellow at MIT (EECS S.M. + MBA) and MIT Driverless engineer, he blends deep NLP and agent research with clean backend architecture and cross-functional leadership to tackle contract understanding, cost forecasting, and negotiation use cases where NLP meets HCI and operations. At SoundHound he led production voice solutions (including a high-profile restaurant ordering deployment) and is a co-author on patents, demonstrating an ability to move research into live products. Junru’s strengths are shipping end-to-end human-centered AI, growing teams, and translating ambiguous operational needs into robust technical products, with a long-term aim toward AI×product leadership.
