Summary
👤
SeniorJustin Ramel is a Lead Software Engineer with over 15 years of hands-on experience and a 20-year history building web applications for startups, government, and higher education. He specializes in TypeScript, JavaScript, React and Node.js, with backend experience in Kotlin, Java and .NET, and a strong commitment to test-driven development and Agile delivery. Justin has repeatedly delivered MVPs and investor-facing demos under tight timelines, translating Figma designs into responsive, production-ready frontends while supporting containerized microservices. He’s built complex features—real-time collaboration, video/game integrations, SSO/MFA, GraphQL clients and large-scale graph queries—often owning testing, CI pipelines and authentication flows end-to-end. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, he is currently focused on remote, outside-IR35 contract roles and brings a pragmatic blend of product-focused engineering and cross-discipline collaboration. An often-overlooked strength is his track record of turning research and data-science prototypes into reliable, performant systems used in production.
