Top SchoolJustin Simoni is an outdoor adventure athlete and seasoned independent software consultant based in Boulder, Colorado, blending 17+ years of full-stack development experience with a professional life spent testing limits in the mountains. He writes, tests, and ships web applications (Linux/Mac, PHP/Perl/Python, JS, MySQL/Postgres, Git) while also guiding backcountry trips, teaching navigation and off-trail skills across the High Sierra, Gates of the Arctic, and Rocky Mountain National Park. As a Review Editor for OutdoorGearLab and athlete for La Sportiva USA and Ultimate Direction, he evaluates gear with the same rigorous, methodical approach he applies to software QA and automated testing. His background in fine art (BFA) and long history of hands-on roles—from warehouse logistics to manual software testing—gives him a practical, detail-oriented perspective that bridges product, performance, and user experience.
