Top SchoolK Roell is a strategic data leader with 11 years of experience building regulatory technology and modernizing compliance systems at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and in industry. He founded and scaled the Regulation Technology Data Products team, led HMDA data quality and infrastructure initiatives, and drove cross-agency integrations that consolidated institutional reporting across mortgage and small business lending. A specialist in HMDA, Section 1071, CRA, and ECOA, he blends policy fluency with hands-on engineering—designing statistical quality control frameworks and data platforms that materially improved accuracy and segmentation. He has briefed regulators and stakeholders, authored responses to RFIs/NPRMs, and translated complex regulatory requirements into producible data products and training. Based in Virginia, he pairs public-sector rigor with product-minded thinking from his time leading compliance analytics in the private sector. Peers describe him as someone who deliberately bridges data science, policy, and stakeholder engagement to advance transparency and public trust.
