Top SchoolKacey Holston is a seasoned PostgreSQL DBA and software engineer with 12 years of hands-on experience designing, tuning, and recovering production database systems while building application-level integrations. Based in Olympia, WA, Kacey consults at PostgreSQL Experts, Inc., managing everything from replication (Slony) and connection pooling (pgbouncer) to cloud deployments on EC2, RDS, and Aurora. Comfortable across the stack, Kacey pairs Python and Django development with practical ops skills—automating monitoring, health checks, and recovery scripts—to keep systems resilient under pressure. A background that spans formal CS studies and an unconventional start in speech-language pathology signals strong cross-disciplinary communication and problem-solving ability that helps translate technical complexity for stakeholders.
