Senior🎓
Top SchoolKaka Ruto is a founder and CTO with a decade of hands-on experience building AI-first products and scalable web platforms, primarily using Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and cloud-native tooling. He has repeatedly founded and grown startups—from Autohaven’s car social network to AI-powered editors and enterprise ChatGPT interfaces—bridging product vision with execution. Experienced across backend, devops, and data-heavy systems, he’s improved performance and reliability through event-driven architectures, background processing, and infrastructure automation on AWS, GCP and Docker. At Smart Pension and Betty Blocks he cut cycle times, reduced duplication with reusable gems, and delivered dramatic performance wins (eg. a GraphQL mutation that sped updates from 45 minutes to 2 seconds). A pragmatic engineer who still prefers Vim and Tmux, he pairs deep technical craft with team-building and mentorship to help others learn to build. Based in London, he combines entrepreneurial grit with a consistent focus on identifying niches and shipping disruptive, usable products.
