Top SchoolKara Cannon is a Principal Software Engineer with 15 years of experience focused on building secure, usable web and game platform services at scale, currently shaping technical strategy and standards for Riot Games’ Studios Tech Foundations. She blends deep front-end and web-platform expertise (TypeScript, Node.js) with practical security and privacy experience—having led Riot’s multi-platform authentication (OAuth2/OpenID Connect) and GDPR-aligned account re-architecture. Kara is comfortable spanning product, infrastructure and service domains, coaching engineers, scoping complex architectures, and navigating long-lived, frequently changing codebases. A former manager at the NFL, she pairs design and usability instincts with a strong background in technical writing and developer hiring practices. Colleagues rely on her for pragmatic trade-offs that improve security and user experience without sacrificing velocity.
