Karan Ganesan is a founding engineer with a decade of experience building 3D, AR, and web platform systems across startups and high-growth teams. He helped build core APIs and features at Luma AI—spanning NeRF/Gaussian splats, capture and flythrough pipelines, and developer-facing Dream Machine and Genie 3D tooling—after leading 3D/AR commerce initiatives at Flipkart following Scapic’s acquisition. Comfortable across backend, API, infra and web stacks, he ships end-to-end products that bridge mobile, web and creative workflows. Based in Mountain View but with roots in Chennai, he mixes entrepreneurial grit from co-founding a startup with deep domain focus on next-generation spatial technologies. Not obvious from titles: he’s consistently moved from intern to founding engineer by specializing in productionizing 3D capture and viewing experiences that power commerce and creator tools.
