Senior🎓
Top SchoolKarel Adámek is a Senior Research Fellow with 12 years of experience designing high-performance parallel algorithms and implementing CPU/GPU real-time data processing pipelines for radio astronomy and related domains. He has led end-to-end delivery from algorithm design to production, notably as Product Owner of the SKA team developing the ska-sdp-func processing library for the Square Kilometre Array. Based in Oxford and now at Silesian University in Opava, he blends deep academic training (PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics, MSc in Theoretical Physics) with hands-on engineering across research and operational environments. His work focuses on squeezing predictable low-latency performance from heterogeneous hardware, and he’s known for translating complex scientific requirements into robust, deployable software. An uncommon strength is his dual fluency in scientific modelling and product ownership, enabling him to bridge researchers’ needs and large-scale production constraints.
