Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolKarthik A is a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager in San Jose with 12 years of experience building ML infrastructure and developer-facing frameworks. At Pinterest he has led ML training compute, framework/SDK development (an in-house PyTorch-Lightning–style framework), GPU capacity and scheduling strategy, Ray-based infrastructure, and experimentation tooling to speed model iteration and deployment. His background spans large-scale compute platforms from Twitter’s Mesos/Aurora optimizations to real-time analytics at Sumo Logic, giving him deep expertise in packing, scheduling, and scaling GPU/CPU resources. He combines pragmatic engineering with people leadership—mentoring through Code2040 and moving from individual contributor to senior manager while continuing to ship core infra. Trained in machine learning at UT Austin, he often bridges research-style experimentation and production-grade systems to accelerate ML teams.
