Top SchoolKate Samuels is a versatile software leader and tinkerer with eight years of engineering experience and a foundation in applied psychology and public health research. She turns people-centric insights into practical software that reduces repetitive work and improves user experience, having led teams at PayPal, Signifyd, Expel, and several Chicago-area startups. As a manager and director she blends hands-on platform and engineering management with a knack for translating complex requirements into usable products. Beyond code, she writes, speaks, and builds electronics projects, applying curiosity from her farm-based experiments in agriculture and gardening back into product thinking. Comfortable in both startup and enterprise settings, she has a track record of scaling teams and systems while keeping the end user top of mind. Her uncommon mix of behavioral research experience and technical leadership helps her spot UX and adoption issues others miss.
