Kees Ham is a principal systems architect with decades of deep experience in MRI systems development, having led hardware and software architecture at Philips Healthcare since the mid-1980s and retired from active project work in 2021. He was chief designer for flagship systems including the Ingenia Ambition with the BlueSeal magnet and the Ingenia 1.5T/3T wide-bore family, and earlier drove the innovative Panorama HFO magnet, gradient and coil designs. Trained in engineering physics and superconductivity at Delft, he combines hands-on gradient coil development with strategic technology roadmapping to meet market needs within tight time and cost constraints. Known for uniting cross-disciplinary teams, he excels at translating clinical requirements into robust, manufacturable MRI architectures. Not obvious from titles alone: he progressed from gradient coil developer to chief designer, giving him rare end-to-end insight from component physics to system-level product delivery.
