Top SchoolKeith Valin is a Performance and Scale Software Engineer at Red Hat with a decade of hands-on experience building and tuning systems across C(++), Python, JavaScript/React, and Bash. Self-taught in system administration, he has run and secured his own VPS and email server, and managed diverse Linux distributions (Arch, Debian, Fedora) for over six years. He’s contributed full-stack and VR web work as a project lead for MYR at UMass Lowell, guiding repo management, code review, and deployments while balancing academic work toward a CS master’s. Comfortable across cloud and on-prem tooling, he has applied practical security and automation practices in projects from HIPAA-aware local infrastructure to AWS-backed deployments. Known for blending low-level performance focus with user-facing feature delivery, he brings a pragmatic, systems-first perspective to scaling real-world services.
