Kenji Hiranabe is a veteran Agile software leader, CTO and co-founder of Change Vision and CEO of ESM with over three decades of engineering and product experience rooted in C++/Java development and software architecture. A prominent advocate for making development more collaborative and enjoyable, he co-founded Agile Japan, serves on Scrum Inc. Japan’s board, and has spoken at major international Agile conferences. He combines hands-on toolbuilding—authoring the astah* modeling suite—with translating seminal Agile books into Japanese and co-authoring a book with Ikujiro Nonaka, reflecting a rare blend of technical craft, publishing, and organizational practice. Recipient of the 2008 Gordon Pask Award, he applies lean, Kanban, and Toyota Production System ideas to software delivery while championing people as knowledge conveyors. Based in Fukui and educated at the University of Tokyo, he brings practical engineering pedigree from JFE Steel to leadership roles driving Agile adoption in Japan.
