Top SchoolKerry Powell is a Senior Frontend Engineer and Technical Lead with over a decade of experience designing performant, accessible web applications and guiding cross-functional teams. They have led migrations from legacy templating to React and implemented serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, S3, Fargate and Terraform to improve scalability for high-traffic international sites. At va.gov they modernized UI components to USWDS standards, removed legacy CSS at scale, and enabled critical Node.js upgrades without regressions. Kerry pairs deep front-end skills (React, TypeScript, Web Components, Sass) with practical DevOps and testing experience (GitHub Actions, Cypress, Mocha) to ship resilient user experiences. Based in Pocatello, Idaho, they bring a track record of mentoring engineers and translating design intent into accessible, performant implementations. A detail that sets them apart: they’ve repeatedly tackled large-scale cleanup and modernization efforts that unlocked platform upgrades and long-term maintainability.
