SeniorKihwan Kim is a corporate executive and veteran computer vision researcher with 11+ years building flagship mobile and XR systems, currently serving as EVP leading HW/SW for Samsung’s XR/AR glasses and AndroidXR. He blends deep academic roots in 3D vision and SLAM—shaped by a PhD from Georgia Tech and leadership of NVIDIA’s NVSLAM—with product-scale delivery of on-device AI, neural rendering, and avatar technologies across Galaxy phones, tablets, watches and TVs. His portfolio spans camera pipelines, multi-sensor fusion, graphics/GPU optimization, and real-time rendering, with hands-on experience shipping DL imaging features and OpenXR/Unity SDKs for commercial ecosystems. Notably, he has driven tech transfer from cutting-edge research into SDKs for robotics, autonomous driving, and consumer AR, and maintains a public research footprint via publications and a comprehensive CV and homepage. Based in the Bay Area, he combines strategic product leadership with low-level graphics and deep learning craftsmanship, including personal projects in OpenGL/GLSL and game physics engines.
