Kiril Vasilev is a Machine Learning Engineer and Data Science MSc student at ETH Zürich, supported by the competitive ESOP scholarship, with a strong interdisciplinary interest in finance and (re-)insurance. He graduated top 1% from TU Delft in Computer Science and has a decade of hands-on experience spanning ML product work, teaching, and engineering. At Creative Dock he built an explainable LLM-based hiring assistant using RAG and function calling, and he currently applies ML at kaiko.ai while tutoring ETH courses on large language models. A prolific educator and head teaching assistant at TU Delft, he combines pedagogy with practical automation of grading and course tooling. Kiril’s background in both embedded systems internships and large-scale ML projects makes him comfortable moving between low-level engineering and applied AI research.
