Top SchoolKotaro Uetake is a software engineer based in Shinagawa, Japan with six years of experience focused on robotics and autonomous systems. He has been contributing to TIER IV since 2020, moving from a part-time engineering role into a full-time position where he applies robotics research to production software. Holding a master’s degree in Robotics Technology from The University of Tokyo and a bachelor’s in Mechatronics from Sophia University, he bridges academic rigor with hands-on system development. Kotaro’s background suggests strengths in perception, control, and embedded software typical of autonomous vehicle stacks, combined with practical experience shipping features in a team setting. Colleagues appreciate his ability to translate complex robotics concepts into maintainable code and iterative product improvements. He brings a quietly curious approach—likely comfortable with both simulation tools and on-vehicle integration—even where public open-source footprints are minimal.
