Top SchoolKourtney Lee is a Senior Backend Engineer with 10 years of experience building high-performance, cloud-native systems and distributed services, currently driving research efforts for HTC Viverse from Toronto. She has a proven track record reducing network load and latency—designing an algorithm that cut positional message traffic by up to 80% and introducing async frameworks that shrank API response times by 85%—and built a distributed audio recording system that materially increased product revenue. Her background spans startups and product companies, from refactoring WebRTC into microservices and hardening cryptography libraries for ISO27001 compliance to shipping GDPR-compliant features and maintaining 99.99% uptime on critical platforms. Comfortable across system programming, backend APIs, and cloud infrastructure (Docker, AWS, databases), she blends research-minded problem solving with pragmatic delivery and operational rigor. An open-minded engineer who moved continents to continue her career, she brings both deep technical craft and a knack for turning efficiency gains into measurable business impact.
