Top SchoolKris Foster is a seasoned engineering leader with 12 years focused on edge cloud, networking, and systems software, now based in San Francisco. He has led large technical organizations—most recently as Sr. Director of Edge Engineering at Fastly—building routing, caching, protocol termination, and kernel-level solutions that shape end-user experience. Earlier roles at OpenDNS/Cisco and BitGravity show deep expertise in global network architecture, PaaS platform engineering, and security tooling used across hundreds of engineers and dozens of datacenters. Kris pairs hands-on engineering with product and operational judgment, having driven traffic-optimization systems, next-gen VPN/proxy services, and automation for secure infrastructure. Outside tech he co-owns a San Francisco bar and runs angel investments, reflecting a pragmatic entrepreneur who balances risk, customer focus, and real-world business operations. His background in philosophy and math hints at a thoughtful, analytical approach to complex technical tradeoffs.
