Top SchoolKyokeun Park is a performance engineer with nine years of software experience, currently focused on optimizing GaussDB at Huawei Technologies Canada. Grounded in a strong academic background from the University of Toronto (BASc and ongoing Master's), Kyokeun has deep exposure to systems, operating systems, parallel programming and networks through extensive TA roles and research. Past industry experience at AMD complements a practitioner’s sensibility for low-level performance and hardware-adjacent software. Known for a curious, self-directed learning style—humorously self-described as a "basement dweller"—Kyokeun blends hands-on benchmarking, profiling and systems design to improve reliability and throughput. He brings both teaching experience and practical engineering to cross-functional teams, able to explain complex system behavior to students and engineers alike.
