Leon Engländer is a Member of Technical Staff in Darmstadt focused on research-driven code generation and agentic systems, with three years of industry and academic experience bridging large-scale ML research and production engineering. At Cohere he researches agentic code generation and mid-training strategies to scale autonomous code-writing systems, after a research internship on code generation agents. Previously he contributed to NLP research at TU Darmstadt’s UKP Lab, co-maintaining the widely used Adapters library (1.5M+ monthly downloads) and publishing at EMNLP on parameter-efficient fine-tuning and modular transfer learning. He brings practical backend and IoT experience from Software AG, building REST APIs for large-scale data streams and Angular demos, and is completing an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic researcher who moves ideas into open-source and production-ready implementations.
